My modest place for the night |
The next morning i continued along Rallarvegen. The first stop was in Finse, which is Norways highest railway station, 1222 m above sealevel.
Before my trip I had read, that Rallarvegen had been heavily improved during the last few years, but in my opinion it was quite difficult to bike it - I was happy to have a good mountain bike. |

The Flåm valley (101 kb) |
I Myrdal you have to options : you can go west to Voss or go down the Flåm valley to Flåm, a small town at Sognefjorden. I choosed Flåm, and the ride down the upper part of the Flåm valley was pretty difficult. Because of big holes and stones in the dirt road, and because the descent was very steep, I couldn't go faster than 7-10 km/h.
I actually meet some bikers going up - how they did that, I didn't quite understand - I was glad to take the train the next day. But still it was an impressive experience. |
