BNSF's Transcon runs through the northern part of Arizona. In Arizona it consists of 2 subdivisions: Gallup Subdivision from Belen, New Mexico, to Winslow and Seligman Subdivision from Winslow to Needles, California.

The Seligman Sub is dominated by the Arizona Divide (2231 m). Both from the west and from the east the line climps to the summit at the Arizona Divide.

Winslow West

The bridge in the western part of town is a nice place to railfan. Eastbound trains come down from the Arizona Divide with the mountains near Flagstaff as an impressive background.

Maine

Maine is on the BNSF mainline, the Seligman sub, between Williams og Flagstaff. Maine is a quite famous photo spot because you can get pictures of westbound trains with the San Francisco Mountains in the background. Maine can be reached by taking exit 178 (Parks Road) from I-40.

Topock

Topock is located at the Colorado River, the border between Arizona and Californien - a little part of the Seligman Sub is located in California. Topock is a good railfan location for especially eastbound trains.
