FolkstonFolkston is just north of the border to Florida in southeastern Georgia. Folkston is famous for its railfan platform, where railfans meet and enjoy the passing trains.Folkston is on the Nahunta Sub, connecting Savannah, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida. Nahunta Sub is part of the CSX ex-Atlantic Coast Line north-south corridor. In Folkston, just north of the railfan platform, the Jesup Sub goes of to Waycross (Rice yard, the biggest in the south-eastern USA, is in Waycross) and Atlanta. This means that all traffic on CSX to and from Florida goes through Folkston (except a small amount of traffic that goes west). | |||
